All about the trip
Join us for this exciting hike around rural Dalat. This hike has more of an emphasis on sightseeing around Dalat than it does on long-distance on trekking. Still, 10 kilometers is quite a long route; it will leave your legs aching at the end of the day. Our day of fun and adventure begins at around 8:30 in the morning with collection from either the meeting point or your hotel in Dalat. After a short trip, we’ll arrive at the starting point for the route, the Van Thanh flower village. This village is the largest rose farm in Dalat and grows 80% of the roses here. Covering a total area of over 200 hectares, this farm is very visually impressive and an interesting way to start off the hike. After we leave the farm, we will head deep into an evergreen pine forest and then ascend up to an impressive array of terraced rice fields. These traditional paddy fields cover the landscape here and as expected, make for some truly authentic photos.
After we descend from the rice terraces, we’ll head towards some coffee and fruit farms. Once again, cameras should be at the ready for the photo opportunities along the way here. There’s still lots of tropical jungle to admire and it’s not unusual to see wild animals roaming around here.
Next up, we will ascend towards the top of the Ta Nung Pass. The Ta Nung Pass is known locally as one of the most beautiful spots in Dalat. Once here, you will enjoy fantastic views of Ta Nung village and the town of Nam Ban down below. Off in the distance, there are stunning views of the Lang Bian Mountain to photograph and enjoy.
After visiting Ta Nung Pass, we will then descend down towards Ta Nung village. Upon arriving at the village, our driver will take you to visit the Highland Coffee Plantation and the Weasel Coffee Workshop. Once here, you will be able to try the famous ‘Luwak Coffee’ and learn about its unique harvesting process.
After lunch, we will then visit the incredible Elephant Waterfall, which is the highest waterfall in Lam Dong province. Bring your swimwear and towel if you want to take a dip in the water. Once we have enjoyed the waterfall, we will then head up through the cement stairs and arrive at the Linh An Pagoda with its two dragons famously flanking its sides. Touching the huge Happy Buddha statue here is also supposed to bring you happiness and good luck, so why not give it go?
After visiting the Pagoda it will be time to visit the Silk Weaving Factory in Dalat. A unique and interesting place to visit, together we will watch the entire silk production process, from cocoon to fabric.
Finally, and saving the best until last, we will visit both an Organic Rice Wine Distillery and a Cricket Farm. Here we can enjoy sampling both kinds of delicacies and begin to finish-up our day of fun together. After we have enjoyed this final stop we will then return you to your hotel or accommodation in Dalat. So join us for this perfect combination of hiking and sightseeing around rural Dalat, it’s the perfect way to spice-up your holiday!
